In one more example that the claim: “the GOP is the political party more apt to keep us safe” is just that: a claim, several GOP members of Congress skipped out on a National Security vote Thursday.
Because one of their own, Michele Bachmann (R-Crazy) threw a “Tea Party” protesting health care at the Capitol on Thursday, and apparently that and standing in between voters and the possibility they will get health care is a bigger priority to them than a National Security vote held at the same time.
Just a few of the members of Congress who went to Bachmann’s little “Tea Party” instead of voting were:
Reps. Steve King of Iowa, Trent Franks of Arizona, Randy Forbes of Virginia, Jim Jordan of Ohio, and Louie Gohmert and Ted Poe of Texas
It’s a myth.
