Hey, remember last year after John McCain and Sarah Palin lost the Presidential election how all the dirt started coming out from behind the scenes in the campaign? And remember how some of us were flabbergasted that, in spite of feeling that Sarah wasn’t quite, oh how do you say it…….”equipped” for the job of Vice President, these very same people were perfectly willing to run with her anyway? You remember, how she didn’t care much for preparing for interviews, didn’t read, didn’t really care to bone up on foreign policy, probably didn’t even know what the two words meant? I believe someone also referred to her as a “Wasilla Hillbilly” in reference to her shopping habits in Neiman Marcus? Called her a “Diva” also too? Just to name a few.
Then a few days ago, John McCain did a little flip-flop on his former running mate. He said he couldn’t see into the future, but she would be a formidable force in the Republican Party and he had “great affection” for her? At the time, I wondered if his change of heart had anything to do with her book coming out. Perhaps before he changed his mind, he feared she would skewer him with a sort of revenge “Palin-oscopy?” Maybe he found out she wasn’t being so tough on him after all? Who knows, it was all speculation on my part.
On the other hand, at the same time his former chief strategist Steve Schmidt was saying if she were to run again it could be “catastrophic” for the Republicans in 2012. Again, I thought uh oh, “Palin-oscopy” number two?
Well guess what? Now it looks like Mr. Schmidt is once again absolutely over the moon for Sarah. So never mind what he said before. That was just so four or five days ago! Now he says they never would have been ahead at all if not for her, that she excited the Party and she transformed the race.
Never mind. All better. Just makes you wonder doesn’t it?
