All day today I have heard of “pundits” and members of the GOP vocalizing their “outrage” Obama for winning the Nobel Peace Prize. One thing I heard several times was “awards given to those who don’t deserve them.” Someone said: “Since when do we give awards to those who have accomplished nothing?” (I heard this last one on a morning “news” program but I have not been able to find the exact quote to cite here. Believe me, I have tried, and I will keep looking and would gladly give that person due credit when I locate it. I’m sure he would want nothing less.)
There have been times when this may have occurred, but not today. Not with this this prize, nor its recipient.
Even though these two awards are not comparable, I don’t recall hearing any complaints of this nature from these people when these awards were given:
