Well file this breaking news under “duh?”
The New York Post says this is news, so who am I to judge? According to the “bought her hook, line, and sinker department” at the Post, it seems ole Sarah Palin just isn’t all that big a “get” on the lecture circuit as some would have us believe.
People out there who are accustomed to paying the really big bucks for lecturers just aren’t buying when it comes to the famous “Rogue Goer” because of fear.
Fear of her Rogue-y-ness you might ask? Uh…..no, actually they fear booking her because, and I’m quoting here, “they think she’s a blithering idiot.” I guess there’s a bigger market for blithering idiots in China than here in the U.S. Of course, these days the Chinese can probably afford to spend six figures on one a lot better than we can too.
And while we’re on the subject of merchants of blather, funny coincidence all around here: apparently no one told the Republicans this news. It seems The GOP Press Politico, who surveyed 50 whole Republicans themselves, found that out of those 50, including “some who refused to talk about her”, it was unanimous! They still believe! I mean think about the significance of that! Not to mention the scientific genius of a survey that gets those kind of results from people who don’t even speak!
From some of those tickled Republicans who would talk, there were rave reviews. Among the endorsements:
One said “She’s not going to lie, (right) she doesn’t sugarcoat it — she’s just going to let it rip.”
And “I see her as being somebody who the average, what I call the ‘working class guy’ relates to.”….. “somebody who hunts and fishes.” (I believe Levi begs to differ on that one.)
And in an oddly amusing twist of irony, the minority leader of the Montana House referred to her “curb appeal” among the party rank and file.
Hmm…. I just can’t wait to see the campaign slogan that Sarah’s new air traffic controller/ghostwriter will be able to squeeze out of “curb appeal!”
