Who Am I?
I’m a mom, a wife, a writer, and a liberal.
I live in the South.
In 2008 my state turned from red to blue.
Now I’m trying to be an optimistic liberal.
Let’s just say it’s a work in progress.
What Is A Beach Peanut?
A rare flower found in the South that lives in the sand,
also called a Burrowing Four-O’Clock.
Just a little metaphor of hope and optimism.
Why I Blog?
When I started this blog I wasn’t sure exactly where it would go. All I knew was that I was an extremely ticked off liberal and I was sick of simmering in that anger for eight years after Bush stole the election and began his quest to drive the country over a cliff. Adding to my frustration was most of the mainstream media who enabled him along the way. After years of screaming at politicians and “so called” pundits and talking heads through the television screen and barely controlling the urge to hurl shoes through it, family members suggested I start a blog. At first I laughed off the idea. Then I decided to give it a try.
Fast forward to the present. I’ve got to say venting is great. Who knew?
Now Bush is gone, and Obama is in, but the politicians and the media haven’t changed. In fact they’ve gotten worse. I’m still ticked off, and for good reason. So I will continue. For the time being, it seems that I will spend the greater amount of my blogging time on politics and the media. If just one person reads what I write and it makes them think, then hey, that’s great. If many more do, even better. Whatever. I’ll still be here typing out my thoughts through either anger, humor, or both. That’s just what works for me.
Oh, and one more thing. I’ve been asked about the pseudonym ”Inkberries.” (Also a plant.) If this were the “old days” of writing and typing, ink to paper, that’s what I would be doing. But it’s not. I think “Inkberries” just sounds better than say, F2-berries, Command-berries or Mac-Berries, don’t you think?
To those of you who’ve stopped by to read and comment, thank you!
What I write here is based on my opinion alone, no one else’s. Not those of family members, nor those of my friends. Mine alone.

Great blog! Adding you to my blogroll.
Thank you!
I’ve just discovered your blog and thank you for getting it out there, for all of us! Your well-researched, thought-provoking blogs are not only entertaining, but give a refreshing insight into our political arena. I look forward to looking back into your archived articles and to sharing my discovery with others. What a great way to start the new year!
Thank you! I’m so glad that you discovered the blog and enjoyed your visit here and I appreciate your thoughtful comments. I look forward to your return visit and do hope you’ll stop by often!
Found your blog from the Mudflats blog which I follow all the time, now I have one in my neck of the woods, keep up the good work
Im with you too I am also one ticked off liberal and my state went blue as well which is surprising given the politics going on now and really the mindset of the rest of the state
Thank you! We’ve all got to keep working hard to stay that way and keep up the fight. The GOP agenda is to transfer wealth to a small few and push a “brand” in order to exploit the very people they work against. It is indeed “lipstick on a pig.” They’re just salesmen pushing a phony brand, while the majority of Dems actually want to WORK to make things better. Action makes a difference, not billboards.
Its disheartening to say the least. I surfed over to a few, Red Bloggers and am truly amazed at the hate and down right nastiness printed in black and white.
Its frightening to think what would happen if the people of hate got control, I really don’t understand. Most their statements are taken out of context and changed to suit their agendas, with a little research on the internet these “truths” are proven false. And how could anyone really believe Palin would be doing a better job, what is it, please explain
I think people are angry about many issues and that anger is being manipulated and exploited by those who want back in control, but beyond that I can’t explain it either.
You should get your blog on facebook
read it everyday thanks for doing the heavy lifting makes it easier for me to comment to my conservative friends
Thank you for your kind comments and thank you for reading! I do appreciate it and enjoy your feedback. I’ve been in the process of adding a Facebook page, but due to time constraints hadn’t been able to do much more than set up a minimal presence. The page should be up now and there is a badge on the sidebar.
Thanks again!
…and thank God for another liberal in Florida. I made the move from FL to GA several years ago…and anything outside of ATL is pretty frightening.
Some pretty scary parts in both states!
